Assembly

The California State Assembly is composed of 80 elected members, each representing a different legislative Assembly district in California. Assembly Members are elected to two-year terms and can serve a maximum of three terms.

Senate

The California State Senate is composed of 40 members, each representing a different legislative Senate district in California. Once elected, a Senator can serve a lifetime maximum of two four-year terms.
