Cal-ABA Continuing Education for
Certified Behavior Analysts and Certified Associate Behavior Analysts
Provider Application Process:
1. Curriculum vita of person responsible for managing the continuing education programs of the agency (CE Coordinator). This person must be a board certified behavior analyst.
2. Curriculum vitae of additional instructors. Primary instructors for a course must be board certified behavior analysts or full members of ABA with Ph.D.
3. Description of representative courses that the agency might provide for continuing education, or course application. To be accepted for continuing education credit, courses must meet the following requirements:

cover behavior analysis practice, theory, or methods
· have stated learning objectives
· be for the purpose of furthering and maintaining the skills or knowledge of behavior analysis
· be of sufficient duration to accomplish the stated learning objectives
· be instructed by a person who meets the following criteria:a) is a board certified behavior analyst or full member of ABA with Ph.D. and
b) has received training in the subject taught in the program or
c) has experience of not less than one year of practical application or research in the subject taught in the program
Individual:
The individual provider must submit:
1. Curriculum vita. An individual provider must be a certified behavior analyst.
2. Description of representative courses that the individual might provide for continuing education, if course approval is not submitted concurrently. Note that provider approval does not constitute course approval. Course approval must be obtained for every course provided for CEUs. To be accepted for continuing education credit, courses must meet the following requirements:·
cover behavior analysis practice, theory, or methods
· have stated learning objectives
· be for the purpose of furthering and maintaining the skills or knowledge of behavior analysis
· be of sufficient duration to accomplish the stated learning objectives
· be instructed by a person who meets the following criteria:(a) is a board certified behavior analyst or full member of ABA with Ph.D. and
(b) has received training in the subject taught in the program or
(c) has experience of not less than one year of practical application or research in the subject taught in the program

Analysts
Course Application Process: Once approved, a course may be delivered on multiple occasions without further application.
Approved providers must apply at least 30 days in advance for course approval for continuing education credits.
Providers must submit a course outline detailing the goals and objectives for the course. To be accepted for continuing education credit, courses must meet the requirements of Cal-ABA Policy 100.5, as follows:

cover behavior analysis practice, theory, or methods
· have stated learning objectives
· be for the purpose of furthering and maintaining the skills or knowledge of behavior analysis
· be of sufficient duration to accomplish the stated learning objectives
· be instructed by a person who meets the following criteria:a) is a board certified behavior analyst or full member of ABA with Ph.D. and
b) has received training in the subject taught in the program or
c) has experience of not less than one year of practical application or research in the subject taught in the program
Once approved, a course may be delivered on multiple occasions without further application.
Providers are responsible for:
· providing documentation/certificates to participants completing the course
· maintaining the following records on file for each delivery of a course: course syllabus, course advertising, and attendance sheet with individual names and certification numbers of participants.
